In 2022, Rotterdam is set to have a new residential tower block: Zalmhaven I. At a height of 215 metres this will be the tallest skyscraper in the Benelux. The Zalmhaven project will also feature two other apartment blocks each 70 metres tall, Zalmhaven II and III.
Zalmhaven is situated in the Maritime Quarter, right beside the Maas, in the centre of Rotterdam. It contains 485 residences in total – apartments, penthouses and town houses – across the three residential tower blocks. There will also be a multi-storey car park, offices, retail spaces, a roof garden and a restaurant.
Voortman Steel Construction provides the (pre-)engineering and delivery and assembly of the various steel structures for the three buildings in the complex, including glazing and canopies. Quite literally the highpoint in the steel structure of the skyscraper fitted at a height of 190 metres. We also supply and assemble for these towers the steel plate concrete floors for the different storeys.
The project is being carried out by BAM Bouw en Techniek. The Voortman project team started on the engineering and the first steel sections have already been delivered to construction.
