The Voortman Steel Group invests in its relationship with various regional educational institutions. Not only to gain knowledge of the latest technology and developments ourselves, but also to transfer our knowledge to the students here. With an average age of 32 years, to many Voortman employees it feels like only yesterday they were at school themselves!
We cooperate with the following educational institutions:
Reggesteyn, Jacobus Fruytier, Pius X college, De Waerdenborch
Secondary vocational education:
ROC van Twente, Deltion College, Graafschap College and REMO West-Twente
Universities of applied sciences:
Saxion, Windesheim, HAN University of Applied Sciences
University of Twente
And furthermore, with the students’ associations from Saxion, Windesheim and the University of Twente. For example, last week a group of first-year students of the educations Construction and Civil Engineering at Saxion visited our company.
The main goal of the cooperation is to motivate and inspire students for the technology of Voortman. That is why we:
- Organise guest lectures
- Organise workshops
- Organise company visits to Voortman Steel Group for schools and students’ associations.
We also offer about 15 to 20 positions for trainees and graduates each school period. Frequently, former trainees and graduates become our new colleagues.
